年越しをリスボンで過ごすことに。今回は、ポルトガルについてご紹介します。
I decided to see in the New Year in Lisbon. This time, I’ll be introducing Portugal.

パリオルリー空港Paris Orly Airport16:40→リスボンLisbon18:20
オルリー空港の荷物検査でたまたま日本のパスポートを拾いました。最初は自分のかと思ったのですがどうやらどなたかの落とし物だったようで、急いでパスポートに書いてある電話番号に連絡しました。
At Orly Airport’s baggage inspection, I happened to find a Japanese passport. At first I thought it was mine, but it seemed to belong to someone else who had lost it, so I promptly contacted the telephone number written inside the passport.
運よくすぐ気づいていただいて、パスポートを渡せました。しかもその方もリスボン行きの飛行機に乗られていて、こんなこともあるんだな、と思いました。
Fortunately, He noticed immediately and I was able to hand over my passport. What’s more, that person was also boarding a flight to Lisbon, which made me realise that things like this do happen.
hostel Check in「Room00」
リスボン旅行はちょっとホテル代を抑えようと思い、ドミトリーに泊まりました。
I decided to save a bit on hotel costs for my trip to Lisbon, so I stayed in a dormitory.
こちらのドミトリーは同じフロアに男性はいましたが、同じ部屋には男女分かれるように振り分けてくださいました。シャワー室にドライヤーもあり、良かったです。
This dormitory had male guests on the same floor, but they kindly allocated us to separate rooms to keep men and women apart. The shower room even had a hairdryer, which was excellent.
「BytheWine」
荷物を置いてから、すぐにお酒を飲みに移動。
ワインが大好きなので、毎回旅先では「Wine Bar」と検索してお店を探します。
After dropping off my luggage, I headed straight out for a drink.
As I adore wine, I always search for “Wine Bar” when travelling to find a place to visit.
今回選んだお店は、ワインの種類が今まで訪れたワインバーの中でおそらく一番豊富で雰囲気も最高でした。さらに店員さんの対応も気さくで、優しくて、Google評価を「５」にしてコメントを投稿してしまいました。(笑)
The establishment I selected this time boasted what was likely the most extensive wine selection of any wine bar I’ve visited, coupled with an absolutely splendid atmosphere. Furthermore, the staff were so friendly and kind that I ended up giving them a five-star rating on Google and posting a comment.
恐らく、３時間ほど本を読みながらワインを飲んでこのお店に入り浸っていました。
I suppose I spent about 3 hours reading a book and drinking wine, practically living in this shop.
毎回、計画を全くしないで旅行に行くので知らなかったのですが、リスボンの街は急な坂が多く、距離は近くてもかなり歩き疲れました。リスボンを訪れる際は、歩きやすい靴がおすすめです。
I hadn’t realised, as I always travel without planning at all, but Lisbon has many steep slopes, and even short distances proved quite tiring on the feet. When visiting Lisbon, I recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
一日目は夜ご飯を食べて終了。
The first day ended after dinner.
31 December
海沿いをお散歩 A stroll along the seafront
年末くらい、「ゆっくり寝てもいいよね」と思い、9時ぐらいまでずっと寝ていました。
Around the end of the year, I thought, “It’s alright to sleep in, isn’t it?”, and slept right through until about 9 o’clock.
二度寝できるって幸せですよね。
ホテルから徒歩20分くらいの場所の「コルメシオ広場」へ。
Being able to sleep in is such a blessing, isn’t it?
To the “Cormecio Square”, about a 20 minutes walk from the hotel.
名物チーズコロッケとブランデー「Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau」
ポルトガルの街を散策するまで全く知らなかったのですが、こちらのお店はポルトガルでかなり有名なお店らしいです。ブランデーとともにいただいたこのチーズコロッケは絶品でした✨
I had no idea until I wandered through the streets of Portugal, but this establishment seems to be quite famous in Portugal. These cheese croquettes, enjoyed with brandy, were absolutely exquisite.
中には溢れるほどのチーズが入っていて、チーズ好きは絶対に食べるべき。実際、溢れてこぼしました。(笑)
It’s absolutely packed with cheese, so cheese lovers absolutely must try it. In fact, it overflowed and spilled.
ブランデーは結構アルコールが強かったです。訪れた日が印字されたこのグラスはお土産にぴったり。
The brandy was quite strong. This glass, printed with the date of my visit, makes a perfect souvenir.
ベレンの塔 Belém Tower
世界遺産に登録されている「ベレンの塔」。世界遺産名は「ジェロニモス修道院とベレンの塔」。もともとは、テージョ川を行き交う船を監視し、河口を守る要塞としてマヌエル１世が建設を命じたもの。
The Tower of Belém, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its official designation is “Monastery of Jerónimos and the Tower of Belém”. Originally commissioned by King Manuel I as a fortress to monitor ships navigating the Tagus River and defend the estuary.

残念ながら、私が訪れた日は工事中でした。€6で中に入れるようです。
Unfortunately, it was undergoing construction on the day I visited. It appears you can enter for €6.
発見のモニュメント Monument to Discovery
すぐ近くにある、「発見のモニュメント」の迫力がすごかったです！
大航海時代に活躍された33人の像が彫られています。
The sheer scale of the nearby Monument to Discovery was truly impressive! It features sculptures of 33 figures who played a prominent role during the Age of Exploration.
この中には教科書で登場する、「ヴァスコ・ダ・ガマさん Vasco da Gama」「フェルナン・デ・マガリャンイスさんFernão de Magalhães」「フランシスコ・ザビエルさん Francisco de Xavier 」がいらっしゃるそう。ちょっと分からなかったけど。(笑)
Among them are said to be Vasco da Gama, Fernão de Magalhães, and Francisco de Xavier, who appear in textbooks. I didn’t quite get it though.
すぐ近くに、オイスターが売られていたので、一休みしました。サンフランシスコから来たアメリカ人の方と、相席。久々のビール🍺。美味しかったです。
I stopped for a break as oysters were being sold nearby.
I shared a table with an American gentleman from San Francisco.
Beer 🍺 after so long. It was delicious.
ポルトガルはどこを撮っても絵になる。本当に素敵な国でした。
Portugal is picture-perfect wherever you look. It truly was a wonderful country.
ジェロニモス修道院Jerónimos Monastery☟
外見だけ見て帰りました。I only saw the exterior before heading back.
お腹が空いて、寄ってみたフードホール。人がいっぱいいたので、ここで食べるのはやめたのですが、色々な選択肢があってよかったです。
Feeling peckish, I popped into the food hall. It was packed, so I decided against eating there, but it was good to have so many options.
すれ違いの知らない人に、「ニーハオ」って言われて、イラっとしました。(笑) 海外旅行あるある。
I got annoyed when a stranger passing by said “Ni hao” to me. A common experience when travelling abroad.
Dinner「Sinal Vermelho」
ポルトガルに行くと同僚の方に話したらおススメのお店を教えてくれました。
When I mentioned to a colleague that I was going to Portugal, they recommended a restaurant to me.
有名なお店なのか、日本人のお客さんが他にもいらっしゃいました。
私は、タコのグリル料理をいただきました。どこのレストランの写真レビューを見ても大体こちらの料理は掲載されていて、とても気になったので注文してみました。
It must be a well-known establishment, as there were other Japanese customers present. I ordered the grilled octopus. This dish appears in practically every photo review of the restaurant I’ve seen, and I was very curious about it, so I decided to give it a try.
タコがぷりぷりで美味しかったです。The octopus was wonderfully tender and delicious.
残念ながら私は年越しの瞬間、寝ていました。(笑)
０時になった瞬間に、すざまじい花火の音は聞こえたのですが、ベットから動く気になれず、「あ、年越したのね。」と思いながら眠りました。
Unfortunately, I was asleep at the stroke of midnight.
The moment the clock struck 0:00, I heard the tremendous sound of fireworks, but I couldn’t bring myself to move from the bed. I simply thought, “Ah, so the new year has begun”,and fell back asleep.
一応、カウントダウン花火は見る予定だったので、どこからの眺めが良いかは調べていました。「ポスタル・ド・ソル広場」という場所はわりと人が少なくておススメらしいです。
I had planned to watch the countdown fireworks, so I’d researched where the best views might be. A spot called “Place du Soleil” apparently isn’t too crowded and is recommended.

絶景スポットまで散歩 A stroll to the scenic viewpoint
元旦はリスボンから、シントラという場所まで電車で移動しました。その前に、リスボンの街並みを惜しんで少し散歩。
On New Year’s Day, I travelled by train from Lisbon to a place called Sintra. Before that, I took a short stroll, reluctant to leave Lisbon’s streets behind.
目的地を設定せずにてくてくと歩いてみました。途中、教会に立ち寄ってお祈りしました。
I set off without a destination in mind, simply wandering along. Along the way, I stopped at a church to say a prayer.
少し疲れたのと、お手洗いに寄りたかったので、雰囲気の良いカフェで2025年を振り返っていました。
Feeling a little tired and needing to use the toilet, I found myself reflecting on 2025 in a cosy little café.
カフェの外装がとてもかわいかったです。リスボンは色とりどりのタイルが印象的。
The café’s exterior was absolutely charming. Lisbon is striking for its colourful tiles.
歩いてたどり着いた場所は絶景で、感動的でした。
The place I reached on foot offered breathtaking views and was truly moving.
一旦ホテルに荷物を取りに行って、駅へ。
I’ll pop back to the hotel to collect my luggage, then head to the station.

Lunch & Dinner
朝は、途中でエッグタルトとナッツ類しかつまみ食いしていなかったので駅を降りてからすぐにレストランへ入店しました。
Having only nibbled on an egg tart and some nuts along the way that morning, I headed straight into a restaurant after getting off at the station.
空腹だったので、すぐにお腹いっぱいになってしまいスープとエビの料理をつまみにワインをいただきました。
As I was hungry, I soon felt full and enjoyed some wine with soup and a prawn dish as nibbles.
ホテルをチェックインし、少し仮眠を取ってから再び探検。
After checking into the hotel and taking a short nap, I set off exploring once more.
デザート Dessert
デザートを食べに、近くのポルトガルレストランへ。元旦だったのもあり、マップを見ても開店しているかしていないのか分からなかったので、歩いていたらたまたま見つけたお店に入ってみました。
Off to a nearby Portuguese restaurant for dessert.
As it was New Year’s Day, I couldn’t tell from the map whether it was open or not, so I just popped into a place I happened to spot while walking.
デザートを食べながら読書をしていました。お店はこじんまりとしていて、スタッフは気さくで、個人的に好きなお店になりました。
I was reading while eating dessert. The shop was cosy and compact, the staff were friendly, and it became one of my personal favourite places.
そして、再びホテルに戻りました。
And so I returned to the hotel once more.
シントラでは一泊だったので、泊まれればどこでもいいな、と思い今回もドミトリーにしたのですが、最悪なことに４人部屋のドミトリーで２人男性でいびきがとてもうるさく、一睡もできませんでした。ヘッドフォンをして音楽を聴いても聞こえてくるうるささ。。。
As I was only staying one night in Sintra, I thought any place would do as long as I could get a bed, so I opted for a dormitory again. But to my utter dismay, in the four-person dorm, two men were snoring so loudly I couldn’t get a wink of sleep. Even with headphones on listening to music, the noise still penetrated.
02 January
世界遺産のペーナ宮殿 The Pena Palace, a World Heritage Site
この日は世界遺産のペーナ宮殿までタクシーで移動。On this day, I took a taxi to the World Heritage site, the Pena Palace.
残念ながらこの日はひどい雨だったのと時間がなかったので、中には入りませんでした。きちんと見るとこんな感じらしい☟ゆっくり見たかったなぁ。。
Unfortunately, it was pouring with rain and I didn’t have much time, so I couldn’t go inside. Apparently, this is what it looks like when you see it properly ☟ I really wish I could have taken our time to look around…
シントラはあと２泊くらい欲しかったな。
見どころがたくさんあって、素敵なところ。こんなに素敵なところがあるなんて。
「もっとゆっくりできればこんな景色が見れたのね」と、こちらのYouTubeを観させていただきながら思いました☟
I wish I’d had another 2 nights in Sintra. It’s such a lovely place with so much to see. I had no idea somewhere this wonderful existed. Watching this YouTube video, I thought to myself, “If only I’d had more time, I could have seen views like this.”
そして、再びタクシーで空港まで向かいました。
Then, once again, I took a taxi to the airport.
エッグタルト食べ比べ Egg tart tasting
①「Castro – Atelier de Pastéis de Nata」
エッグタルトはホカホカでカスタードは甘さ控えめでした。スタッフの制服がかわいかったです。
The egg tart was piping hot, and the custard was pleasantly not too sweet. The staff uniforms were rather cute.
②「Manteigaria」
こちらのお店はリスボン市内に何店舗かありました。こちらのカスタードはトロトロで、サクサクのタルト生地とよく合っていて美味しかったです。
This shop had several branches within Lisbon city. The custard was wonderfully creamy and paired perfectly with the crisp tart base . Tt was delicious.
③リスボン空港内のカフェCafés at Lisbon Airport
タルトは冷めきっていましたが、美味しかったです。
The tart had gone completely cold, but it was delicious.
④スターバックスStarbucks
こちらも空港内で見つけました。スターバックスにエッグタルトが売っているのはおそらくポルトガルだけだと思います。
I found this one inside the airport too. I reckon Portugal is probably the only place where you can buy egg tarts at Starbucks.
個人的には②の「Manteigaria」が一番好みでした。
Personally, I preferred option ②, “Manteigaria”.
