はじめにintroduction
高校生の頃から憧れていた，NYCに現在おります．
I am currently in NYC, which I have been dreaming of since I was in high school.
今回は３週間ほどNYCに滞在します．GoogleMapで眺めていた２次元の世界が今目の前に広がっていて，毎日が新鮮で楽しいです．
This time I will be in NYC for three weeks, and the two-dimensional world I used to see on GoogleMap is now spread out before my eyes, and every day is fresh and fun.
今回はニューヨーク１人旅の様子を記事にしていきます．

１日目day1
出発
空港まで車で送ってくれた同僚の先輩，ありがとうございました😭🚙💞
Thank you to my senior colleague who drove me to the airport .
２週間前に私も旅に出る友人を車でお送りしたのですが，飛行機乗り遅れていたので，少し余裕をもって向かいました．
Two weeks ago I drove a friend of mine who was also travelling, but they had missed them flight, so I headed over with a bit of time to spare.
ロンドンとニューヨークの時差は５時間．日本との時差は13時間．
友達に連絡するときに，時差が全く違うので，なんだか不思議な感覚でした．
The time difference between London and New York is 5 hours. The time difference from Japan is 13 hours.It was a strange feeling when I called my friends because the time difference was completely different.
７時間のフライトを終え，無事JFK空港に到着．
ニューヨークは入国審査厳しいと聞いていたのですが，なぜか私は何も聞かれず．．（笑）
After a seven-hour flight, I arrived safely at JFK airport.
I had heard that New York has a strict immigration checkpoint, but I do not why I was not asked any questions.
虹彩と指紋だけ撮られてスルーしました‼
きっと，私の見た目が何もしなそうだったんだな．うん．
I only had my iris and fingerprints taken and went through with the ministry.
I must have looked like I had nothing to offer … . I guess I didn’t look like I am going to do bad things.
Times Sqare
空港には17時に到着．20時から友人と待ち合わせをしてミュージカルを見に行く予定だったので，急いでホテルに向かい，チェックイン．
I arrived at the airport at 17.00. Because I was going to meet a friend of mine at 20.00 to see a musical, I rushed to the hotel and checked in.
ホテルからタイムズスクエアまでは地下鉄で30分ほどだったので，ダッシュで向かいました．何とかギリギリ間に上映に間に合いました！✌️
It was a 30-minute underground ride from the hotel to Times Square, so I made a dash for it. I managed to get to the screening just in time!
履きなれていないサンダルでダッシュしたので，足に豆ができた．．．
I dashed around in sandals I wasn’t used to wearing and got a bean on my foot …
今回拝見したのは「Moulig Rouge!」🤗💓
I wached the「Moulig Rouge!」.
個人的に，今まで拝見したミュージカルの中で一番好きでした‼
迫力があって，派手さがあって，とっても好き．
Personally, it was my favourite musical ministry I have ever seen.
It’s powerful, it’s flashy, I like it very much.
音楽・歌声に圧倒されました✨
I was overwhelmed by the music and singing.
その後，タイムズスクエアの真ん中でニューヨーク名物のホットドックを食べて，解散しました．ホットドックは友人におごってもらいました🌭
Afterwards, we broke up in the middle of Times Square, eating New York’s famous hotdogs. The hotdogs were bought for us by a friend🌭.
お腹が空いていたので，より美味しく感じました‼
The ministry tasted better because I was hungry.
テレビや写真で見ていたタイムズスクエア．沢山の人でにぎわっていていました．
目に飛び込んでくる景色に，日々感動🫣
Times Square as seen on TV and in pictures. It was bustling with people.
I was moved every day by the scenery that met my eyes.
ニューヨークの夜の地下鉄にビビりながらホテルまで無事到着．
時差ボケがあって疲れていたので，すぐに眠れました！
I arrived safely at my hotel, scared of the New York City underground at night.
I was jet-lagged and tired, so I slept right away!
２日目day2
スーパーマーケットgrocery store
旅行中は朝少し早く起きて，散歩するのが私の楽しみの一つ．
One of my favourite things to do while travelling is to get up a little earlier in the morning and go for a walk.
ニューヨークの朝はあわただしく人が動いています．散歩するだけで楽しい．
New York City mornings are a flurry of activity.Just taking a walk is a pleasure.
ホテルに帰る途中で，スーパーマーケットに立ち寄り，シャンプー・リンスとボディオイル・フルーツを買って帰りました．
On the way back to the hotel, I stopped at the grocery store to buy shampoo/conditioner, body oil and fruit.
ニューヨークのスーパーマーケット，とってもオシャレでした．
様々な国の方がいらっしゃるので，ビーガンなものなど宗教に合ったものがたくさんありました‼
Wherever in New York’s grocery store was very stylish.
There are people from many different countries, so there were many items that suited their religion, including vegan items ect.
美容院へhair slon
11時から日系の美容院を予約していました．
I had a reservation at 11am at a Japanese hairdresser’s .
死ぬまでにやりたかったことの一つが，バレヤージュをすること．
髪の毛が痛むのを怖がって，なかなか脱色する勇気がなかったのですが，ついに，人生初ブリーチをしました‼
One of the things I wanted to do before I died was to bleach my hair.
I never had the courage to bleach my hair for fear of damaging it, but finally, for the first time in my life, I did a bleaching ministry.
ニューヨークで髪を切ってみたかったという一つの夢を叶えてきました‼
The ministry has fulfilled one dream: I wanted to cut hair in New York.
今まで髪の毛にそこまでお金はかけてこなかったのですが，やっぱり自分の気分が上がるような髪型でいたいと思って，挑戦しました．
I’ve never spent that much money on my hair before, but I wanted to have a hairstyle that would make me feel good about myself, so I gave it a go.
それに，ロンドンで髪の毛を切る・カラーするのとさほど金額が変わらないので，せっかくだから染めてみたかった色にしようと思って😎
Besides, it’s not much more expensive than getting your hair cut and coloured in London, so I thought I’d go for it and dye it the colour I wanted.
PIZZA
帰りに，店員さんにおすすめしてもらったピザ屋さんに寄って，Take out!!
ホテルでゆっくり頂きました．カリッカリで美味しかったぁ．．．🍕💞
On the way back, I dropped in at a pizza shop recommended by the waiter and took out a pizza.We enjoyed it slowly at the hotel. It was crispy and delicious…
Cony Island
続いて，Next up.
なぜニューヨークにずっと憧れていたのかというと，色々な理由がありますが，１つは大好きなアニメ「BANANAFISH」の舞台地だからということ．
There are many reasons why I have always been attracted to New York, but one of them is that it is the setting of my favourite anime “BANANAFISH”.
ということで，BANANAFISHを追い求めて，NYまで来てしまいました．笑
So I came to New York in pursuit of BANANAFISH.
「#13 キリマンジャロの雪The snows of Kilimanjaro」でアッシュがオーサーと対決するお話で出てくる場所です．
This is the location mentioned in #13 The snows of Kilimanjaro, where Ash confronts the Authors.
イーストブロードウェイ駅からFラインに乗って，終点のコニーアイランドまで．
BANANAFISHIの聖地巡礼ブログは別途詳しく書こうかなと思います．
Take the F line from East Broadway Station to the end of the line at Coney Island.
I promise I will write a separate blog on BANANAFISHI’s tour in more detail.
せっかくコニーアイランドまで来たので，観覧車に乗ることに．
１人で観覧車に乗るのは人生初‼
Since I had come all the way to Coney Island, I decided to ride the Ferris wheel.
It was the first time in my life that I rode the Ferris wheel alone.
日本で観覧車というと，ゆっくりと景色を楽しむ乗り物というイメージ．
アメリカではアトラクションらしく．．．(笑)
In Japan, a Ferris wheel is a ride where you can enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace.
In the USA, however, they are considered an thrill ride.
揺れる観覧車でした‼ぎしぎしといいながら，揺れる観覧車は迫力満点‼１人でも楽しめました‼
The Ferris wheel was a rocking Ferris wheel, and the squeaking, swaying Ferris wheel was a powerful experience.I could enjoy it by myself.
３日目day3
Brooklyn Bridge
朝起きて散歩しに，ブルックリンブリッジまで．
I got up in the morning and went for a walk to the Brooklyn Bridge.
朝からランニングをしている方がたくさんいらっしゃいました．
Many people were running in the morning .
散歩していると，なんとニューヨークでもセブンイレブンを発見‼😯
I was walking around and to my surprise I found a 7-Eleven ministry in New York City.
立ち寄ってみました‼日本と内装は似ていますが，もちろん陳列されている商品は異なりました．
I dropped in and found that the ministry’s interior was similar to that in Japan, but of course the products on display were different.
アメリカで水で買うときは，どこでも値段がさほど変わらないと感じました．
スーパーでも，自販機でもコンビニでも500mlペットボトルは$3くらいでした．
When buying water in the USA, I felt that the price was not so different everywhere.
A 500ml bottle was about $3 in supermarkets, vending machines and convenience stores.
Statue of Liberty
フェリーに乗って自由の女神🗽を見に行ってきました．
I took a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty.
ShakeShack
アメリカ発祥のハンバーガーショップ，シェイクシャックへ．
Shake Shack, a hamburger shop that originated in the USA, is the place to go.
東京でもロンドンでも食べれるのですが，初めて食べるシェイクシャックはアメリカがいいと思って，今まで食べたことがなかったのですが，とっても美味しかったです‼
I can eat it in Tokyo or London, but I had never had Shake Shack before because I thought the first Shake Shack I ever had was better in America, and it was very tasty.
シェイクめちゃくちゃ美味しいから食べたほうがいいよ，と言われたもののシェイク１杯で800kcalということに驚いて，注文しませんでした（笑）
ピンクレモネードとベーコンチーズポテトを注文．
I was told my froend that I should eat the shake because it was so good, but I was surprised to find out that one shake contains 800 kcal, so I didn’t order it.
I ordered pink lemonade and bacon cheese fries.
とっても美味しかったです🍟🍴
It was very tasty.
実はこの日，夜にヘリコプターでマンハッタンの夜景を見る予定だったのですがあいにくの雨と雷でリスケすることに．残念．．．
Actually, I had planned to see the night view of Manhattan by helicopter at night, but unfortunately I had to reschedule due to rain and thunder… Unfortunately, due to rain and thunder, I had to reschedule.
連絡を受けたときにエンパイアビルの近くにいたので，そこのスタバにちょろっと立ち寄ってホテルまで帰りました．
I was near the Empire Building when I got the call, so I stopped briefly at the Starbucks there and then went back to the hotel.
４日目day4
朝活！using early morning time
朝６時にホテルを出発して30分歩いてスターバックスまで．
充実した時間を過ごすことができました😎
I left the hotel at 6am and walked 30 minutes to Starbucks .
We had a great time!
9/11memorial&musium
印象的だったのは，このテロによって亡くなった方たちの写真が一枚一枚丁寧に貼られていたことです．なぜこんなに多くの罪のない方たちが亡くならなければならなかったのか，と思うと胸がいっぱいになりました．
What impressed me was that the photographs of those who died in the attack were carefully pasted one by one.
My heart is filled with sadness at the thought of why so many innocent people had to die.
Yankee Stadium
野球の試合を見に行くのは初めてだったのですが，とっても楽しかったです．
ビールとチキンを片手に，応援しました‼
It was my first time going to a baseball game and it was a lot of fun.
I cheered for the ministry with beer and chicken in my hand.
この日の気温は30度近くで朝からフルーツしか口にしていなかったので，そこまでビール好きというわけではないのですがすごく美味しく感じました．
The temperature that day was nearly 30 degrees Celsius and all I had eaten since morning was fruit, so even though I’m not that much of a beer drinker, I found it very tasty.
帰りにはグッズを買い込み，すっかりヤンキースファンに．
On the way home, I bought some merchandise and became a Yankees fan.
bookstore
かわいい本屋さんを発見．
I found a cute bookshop .
帰り道，ひどい雨に打たれてホテルに着くころにはびしょ濡れでした💦しかも，帰りに立ち寄ったて購入したタピオカを盛大にぶちまけ，もう一度買う羽目に(笑)
On the way back, we were soaked to the skin by the time we got to the hotel due to the terrible rain 💦.Moreover, the tapioca I had stopped to buy on the way home was smashed so badly that I had to buy some more!
5日目day5
doughnut🍩☕
この日は滞在先を変えなければならず，荷物が重かったので，ホテル周辺でゆっくり過ごしました．
I had to change my accommodation that day and my luggage was heavy, so I spent the rest of the day in the hotel area.
朝６時に起床して，ホテルのジムでトレーニングをした後，朝食を買いに．ホテルの近くに美味しそうなドーナツ屋さんを見つけたので，購入してホテルのラウンジで頂きました☕🍩
I woke up at 6am and went to the hotel gym to work out and then to buy breakfast.I found a delicious-looking doughnut shop near the hotel, so I bought some and had them in the hotel lounge ☕🍩.
Chinatown
その後，少し作業してからチャイナタウンへ．
Afterwards, I worked for a while and then went to Chinatown.
お昼ご飯に餃子と小籠包をいただきました‼
We had dumplings and small baskets for lunch.
そして次の滞在先に移動しました．
I then moved on to our next place of stay .
ニューヨークでの発見Discoveries in New York.
発見① トイレの隙間問題Finding 1: The problem of gaps in toilets.
アメリカに来て，早くも４日が経ちましたが一番驚いたことはお手洗い．
I have been in the USA for four days now and the most surprising thing is the bathrooms.
個室のドアの隙間がおよそ30cm空いているので，お隣さんの足が丸見えなんです．．．
There’s a gap of about 30 cm under the door of my private room, so I can see my neighbour’s feet .
しかも，扉に少し隙間があるので外から個室内の様子が見ようとすれば見える．
なんで??設計ミス??
Moreover, there is a small gap in the door, so you can see what is going on in the private room from the outside if you want to.Why? Design error?
発見② トイレって英語でなんて言う？Finding 2: How do you say toilet in English?
英語について感じたこと．
義務教育の英語ではトイレのことを「bathroom」と教わりましたが，イギリスでは「tilet」を普通に使っています．
What I felt about the English language.In compulsory English education, we were taught ‘bathroom’ for toilet, but in the UK, ‘toilet’ is commonly used(maby).
なんだ，通じるんだ，と思っていたら，アメリカでは「bathroom」が主流でした．
I thought, “What the hell, I can understand that”, but in the USA, “bathroom” is the mainstream.
また私が滞在していたホテルでは「washroom」と記載があり，ランドリールームかと思っていましたが中に入るとトイレで驚きました．
I thought it was a laundry room, but was surprised to find it was a toilet when I entered at staied hotel in NY.
発見③ ニューヨークの運転手はすぐにクラクションを鳴らしたがる．Finding 3:New York drivers are quick to sound their horns.
ロンドンでもクラクションをすぐに鳴らしていてとても驚きましたが，ニューヨークはそれよりもすごかったです．
I was very surprised at the immediate honking of car horns in London, but in New York it was even more so.
夜中でも構わずクラクションを鳴らすので，ほんとにうるさい．クラクション鳴らしても状況は変わらないのに．文化の違いって面白いなと思いました．
They honk their horns even in the middle of the night, so it’s really noisy.
The situation doesn’t change even if they honk their horns.
I thought it was interesting how different cultures are.
発見④ みんな信号なんて気にしないFinding 4: People don’t care about traffic lights.
横断歩道が「止まれ」にも関わらず，気にせず皆さん渡ります．
Despite the pedestrian crossing being a ‘stop’, everyone crosses without paying attention.
ポリスの前でも普通に渡っていて，見ているポリスも何も言わない．(笑)
They cross normally in front of the policemen, and the policemen watching do not say anything.
私の道徳心が揺らぐ瞬間となりました．
It was a moment that shook my moral compass.

ホテルの最終日，鶴をおってその国の「ありがとう」の言葉を書いてからチェックアウトするようにしています．
On the last day at the hotel, I write down the country’s ‘thank you’ with a crane before checking out.
これは職場の方から聞いたことで，その方曰く，少しでも日本という国に対していい印象を残したいからだそうです．素敵な考えだな，と思い，私も真似して始めました．
This is something I heard from someone at work, who said it was because he wanted to leave a good impression of Japan, even if just a little. I thought it was a nice idea, so I started imitating him.
