海辺近くの小さなマーケット Kauppatori
こちらのマーケットには、フルーツやソーセージが売られています。屋台のようにその場で食べることができるお店もちらほらあります。
This market sells fruit and sausages. There are also a few stalls where you can eat on the spot, much like at a street food market.
サウナ sauna
サウナの発祥地でサウナへ. To the sauna in the birthplace of the sauna.
今までサウナへ行く機会がなかったのですが，コペンハーゲンで初サウナを体験してから自分がサウナ好きだということを発見。フィンランドでまたサウナを体験して，より好きになりました。
I’d never had the chance to go to a sauna before, but after experiencing my first one in Copenhagen, I discovered I’m quite fond of them. Having another sauna experience in Finland made me like them even more.
コペンハーゲンでは海に飛び込まなかったのですが，フィンランドでは飛び込みました。この日の気温は体感温度10度くらいだったので，結構冷たかったです。ただ，私は免疫力を高めるために毎日冷水を浴びているので，案外耐えられました👍
I didn’t jump into the sea in Copenhagen, but I did in Finland. The temperature that day felt like about 10 degrees, so it was quite cold. However, as I take cold showers daily to boost my immunity, I managed to endure it surprisingly well.
また，サウナがある同じ建物の中にレストランがありそこで白ワインと美味しいスープをいただきました。サーモンがたくさん入ったスープ。サウナの後にすぐいただいたので，すぐにほろ酔いになりました。
Moreover, within the same building housing the sauna, there was a restaurant where I enjoyed white wine and a delicious soup. A soup packed with salmon. Having consumed it immediately after the sauna, I soon felt pleasantly tipsy.

マーケットで美味しいスープを飲む Enjoying a delicious soup at the market
大袈裟じゃなく，今まで飲んだスープの中で一番美味しかったです．この味は家庭では表現できない味．たっぷりの野菜と，オイスターとえびとサーモンがたくさん入っており，トマトベースのスープと一緒にいただくとたまらない．こんなにも具沢山なのに€14でした😮❤️他にも２種類ありました．もしできるなら毎日飲みたいです．
Without exaggeration, it was the most delicious soup I’ve ever tasted. This flavour simply cannot be replicated at home. Packed with vegetables, oysters, prawns and salmon, it’s utterly irresistible when enjoyed with the tomato-based soup. And despite being so generously filled, it was only €14! There were two other varieties too. If I could, I’d drink it every day.
北欧の伝統料理ミートボール Traditional Nordic meatballs
北欧の伝統料理といえば，ミートボール．
When it comes to traditional Nordic cuisine, meatballs spring to mind.
美味しそうなお店を発見したので，行ってみました．１人旅では，いつも15時くらいから開いているレストランでお昼からお酒を飲んで，早めに寝る．
I spotted a rather tempting-looking restaurant on Google Maps, so I decided to give it a try. On solo trips, I usually head to restaurants opening around 3pm, have a drink with lunch, and turn in early.
15時だとお客さんが少なく，店員さんのサービスが手厚い．ヨーロッパだとアジア系の顔が珍しいのか，「どこから来たの？」「おいしい？」「これサービスね」とか，優しく振舞ってくださる．こちらも，お客さんが少ないからゆっくりしていても迷惑にならないので心地よい．なので，レストランは早めに行くのがおすすめです．
At 3pm, there are fewer customers, so the staff provide more attentive service. Perhaps because Asian faces are uncommon in Europe, they treat you kindly, asking things like, “Where are you from?”, “Is it delicious?”, or offering complimentary items. It’s also pleasant because, with fewer customers, you can take your time without causing any inconvenience. Therefore, I recommend visiting restaurants earlier.
スウェーデンに行った時もミートボールをいただきましたが，やっぱりミートボールというよりハンバーグ．お肉がぎっしりと詰まっています．お肉自体にはそんなに味付けされていませんが，上にかかったソースといただくとお肉のしつこさがなくなって美味しい．お肉なので赤ワインと一緒にいただきました．
When I visited Sweden, I also had meatballs, but they were more like hamburgers than traditional meatballs. The meat was packed in very densely. The meat itself wasn’t heavily seasoned, but when eaten with the sauce poured over it, the richness of the meat disappeared and it was delicious. As it was meat, I enjoyed it with red wine.
店内はとても穏やかで，おしゃれで，窓からフィンランドの景色を楽しみました．お店の方がとても優しかったの♡
The restaurant was very peaceful and stylish, and I enjoyed the view of Finland from the window. The staff were very kind.

マリメッコ Marimekko
かわいい花柄デザインのモチーフはポピーです。そしてポピーの花言葉は「いたわり」「思いやり」「恋の予感」「陽気で優しい」です。
The motif in the cute floral design is a poppy. The meanings associated with poppies are ‘tenderness’, ‘compassion’, ‘a premonition of love’ and ‘cheerful and gentle’.
私は黄色のマグカップを自分へのお土産に購入しました。黄色は「成功」と「富」の意味があるそうなので💛
I bought a yellow mug as a treat for myself. Apparently, yellow symbolises ‘success’ and ‘wealth’, so
ムーミンショップ Moomin Shop
あの愛くるしいキャラクタームーミンはフィンランドで生まれました。ムーミンは、「カバ」でも「小人」でも「妖怪」でもない不思議な生き物でムーミン谷にひっそりと暮らしている。
That adorable character, Moomin, was born in Finland. Moomin is a mysterious creature neither a hippopotamus, nor a dwarf, nor a monster, who lives quietly in Moominvalley.
ムーミンを生み出したのは「トーベヤンソン」さんという女性作家。彼女のアトリエもヘルシンキにある。空港内のお土産ショップにもムーミンがあちこちにいます。
Moomin was created by a female author named Tove Jansson. Her studio is also located in Helsinki. You’ll find Moomin figures all over the souvenir shops at the airport.
2025年の夏はとにかくゆっくり自分のペースで体を整えることができる良い時間になりました．イギリスから日本，日本からハワイ，ハワイからロサンゼルス，ロサンゼルスからフィンランド，フィンランドからイギリスへ移動してきたので，物理的には地球をぐるりと一周してきたことになります．(笑)
The summer of 2025 turned out to be a wonderful time to simply take things slowly and get myself back on track at my own pace. Having travelled from the UK to Japan, Japan to Hawaii, Hawaii to Los Angeles, Los Angeles to Finland, and Finland back to the UK, I’ve physically gone right round the world.
色々な経験ができて，本当に幸せです．この環境に感謝．さて，次の旅行に向けて仕事頑張ります👍
I’ve had so many experiences and feel truly blessed. I’m grateful for this environment. Right then, I’ll knuckle down at work to prepare for my next trip.
